RCCC wins six national marketing awards in the educational advertising competition

SALISBURY — Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s marketing and communications team has again achieved national recognition by winning six awards at the 39th annual Educational Advertising Awards, the largest and oldest awards competition of educational advertising in the country. Competing against more than 2,000 entries from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and high schools in all 50 states and numerous foreign countries, Rowan-Cabarrus proudly won awards in every category in which they submitted entries.

The College’s Marketing and Communications team, led by Director of Governance, Advancement and Community Relations Sarah Devlin, and staff members who produced the award-winning work included Director of Marketing and Communications Aaron Tallman, Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications Carter Wingfield and Graphic Designer senior Allison Robinson. Their innovative and impactful work continues to elevate the college’s brand and outreach.

“We are incredibly proud of our marketing and communications team for their creativity, dedication and excellence,” said Dr. Carol S. Spalding, President of Rowan-Cabarrus. “Their efforts showcase the college’s strengths and engage and inspire our community. It is gratifying to see their hard work recognized nationally.”

Rowan-Cabarrus won four gold awards this year. The awards were for a video produced in collaboration with Market Street Studios to promote the Rowan-Cabarrus Foundation Scholarships for students, billboards for the “Picture Your Future Here” marketing campaign, the reimagined “This Week” weekly internal email digest, and landing on the employee portal. and the new “Start Today” landing page for new and prospective students.

In addition, the college won two silver awards. These were for the 2022 Annual Report, “One Year Ahead” and the “I Belong” video created for the Membership Guide Conference, which featured members of the College’s cabinet.

“Our forward-thinking, creative marketing and communications team is passionate about showcasing Rowan-Cabarrus as an institution of choice,” said Sarah Devlin, director of governance, advancement and community relations. “We understand the importance of our role in connecting prospective students with the college and are committed to building and enhancing our brand. This recognition affirms the impactful work we do every day.”

The Educational Advertising Awards are judged by a national panel of higher education marketers, creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals. Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s continued success in this competition highlights the exceptional talent and commitment of its marketing and communications team.
