Downed trees, downed power lines were reported in Livingston Parish, surrounding areas

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Officials are reporting downed power lines and trees and other storm damage in Livingston Parish and surrounding areas.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reports several downed trees, power lines and blocked roads in the following areas:

  • Rosewood St. near Goldenrod St. (complete road block)
  • Dunlap Hall Rd. (tree down on power lines; total road blockage)
  • Buck Carroll Rd. (Walking area; more total roadblocks)
  • North Corbin Rd. near Weiss Rd. (more trees felled)
  • Piata de trestie str. off Lawrence Bush Rd. (total blocking of the road)
  • Joe May Rd. off Earl Chaney Rd. (trees down on power lines)
  • Wayne St. near Hwy. 16 (complete road block)
  • Milton Rd. off Burgess Rd. (fallen trees in the curve)
  • Walker Road North and Weiss Road (low lines, full road closure)
  • Varnado Road (knocked down, smoking power line)
  • Hwy. 43 near the highway. 40 (fallen tree)
  • Lewis Rd. (fallen tree blocking the road)
  • Forest crossing near Walker South (high water)
  • Joe May Rd. (standing water)

Much of our area is experiencing power outages as a result of the storm.

Deputies are advising everyone to stay off the roads if possible.
