Colorado man attacks TV reporter, says ‘This is Trump’s America now!’

Expect non-stop behavior like this from Trump supporters as they now have license to commit whatever crimes they like. Well, almost. He was arrested after attacking a brown person (Pacific Islander) and is now being held on $20,000 bail. Police say this deranged maniac followed KKCO/KJCT reporter Ja’Ronn Alex’s vehicle for about 40 miles.

DENVER (AP) — A Colorado man faces possible bias charges for allegedly attacking a television news reporter after he demanded to know if he was a citizen, saying “This is Trump’s America now,” according to documents the court.

Patrick Thomas Egan, 39, was arrested Dec. 18 in Grand Junction, Colo., after police said he followed KKCO/KJCT reporter Ja’Ronn Alex’s vehicle for about 40 miles (64 kilometers) from the Delta area. Alex told police he believed he was being followed and attacked because he was Pacific Islander.

After arriving in Grand Junction, Egan, who was driving a taxi, pulled up next to Alex at a traffic light and, according to an affidavit, said something like, “Are you even an American citizen? This is Trump’s America now! I’m a Marine and I took an oath to protect this country from people like you!”

Alex, who had gone out to report, then returned to his news station in town. After getting out of the car, Egan followed Alex as he ran to the station door and demanded to see his ID, according to the document containing police evidence in the case. Egan then tackled Alex, put him in a headlock and “began to strangle him,” the affidavit said. Co-workers who ran to help and witnesses told police that Alex appeared to lose his ability to breathe during the attack, which was partially captured on surveillance video, according to the document.
