Despite extensive efforts, the case remains unsolved.

In a significant development, investigators have released surveillance footage from the night of the crime in hopes of identifying the suspect.

The video shows a person believed to be connected to the murder. The Orlando Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward.

DJ’s mother tells FOX 35 she hopes sharing the surveillance video will lead to an arrest after three long years without answers.

“I want the closure to go away and to have peace and justice for him and his children,” said DJ’s mother, Margaret White. “I’m praying that somebody sees that person and says, ‘I know who that is,’ and calls and gives a tip.”

Margaret says her son DJ fathered 12 children. She has trouble losing him with so many unanswered questions.

“I would like to know why. That will be closure for me,” she said. “I don’t think whatever it was, he didn’t deserve to lose his life. They took him away from his children.”

Tips can be sent anonymously to CrimeLine.org or by calling 1-800-423-8477.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

White’s family continues to seek closure, with detectives stressing the importance of community involvement in bringing the victim justice.
