Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a male suspect in two vicious incidents involving the same home.

Police said on Sept. 19, video surveillance footage captured a male suspect in the early hours of the morning pouring blue paint on the victim’s front porch on Young St. near Catharine St. S.

The man is described as being in his 30s. He was carrying a red backpack and wearing a black hooded jacket and a red-brimmed baseball hat.

Police say on Sept. 24, the victims awoke to find themselves once again targeted with hateful comments spray-painted on the residence and vehicle, the latter of which had a broken windshield.

York Regional Police said when officers arrived at the location on Rutherford Rd.-Hwy. 400 area, they found a 38-year-old employee with a minor injury that did not require medical attention and a second employee with no physical injuries.

Police were told that when the first suspect was allowed into the store, he held the door open for the other four suspects, one of whom said he was armed with a handgun.

Police say the suspects stole a quantity of items and fled in a waiting dark SUV that was last seen heading west on Rutherford.

Suspect no. 1 is described as a black male with a thin build, approximately 13-15 years old, wearing a black Nike hoodie, black pants, black shoes, white socks and no gloves or mask.

Suspect no. 2 is described as a black male, approximately 1.5m, 2.5m to 1.5m, of slim build, wearing a blue tracksuit with white stripes and hood up, a dark face covering, gloves black, white sneakers. with black accents and holding a black gun in his right hand.

Suspect no. 3 is described as a light-skinned man, approximately 1.5 meters tall, with a slim build, wearing a black hoodie with white lettering on the back, brown trousers, white trainers, black and white gloves, sunglasses and a scarf beige on the face.

Suspect no. 4 is described as a light-skinned man, approximately 5-foot-8, slim build, wearing a black hoodie with writing on the back, blue jeans, white sneakers, white gloves and a gray face covering.

Suspect no. 5 is described as approximately 5ft 8.8m with a thin build, wearing a black winter parka with black fur on the hood, black trousers, black trainers, a medical mask and black gloves.

A 72-year-old Mississauga man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision.

York Regional Police said the incident happened on Nov. 8 at around 5:25 p.m.

Officers said the victim, an 80-year-old man, was crossing the center block on Creditview Rd. south of Eglinton Ave. W. in Mississauga when he was hit by a white SUV.

Police said the driver of the SUV stopped briefly and then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries.

On December 3, the accused was arrested and charged.

Theodoros Diamantouros was charged with failure to stop after an accident causing bodily harm.
