Woman suspected of robbery at Hilo grocery store punches employee when confronted: Big Island Now

Hawai’i Island police are asking if anyone can identify a woman suspected in a robbery earlier this month at a Hilo grocery store on Maka’ala Street, during which one of the store’s employees was struck by the suspect as she was leaving .

An employee of the grocery store reported that an unidentified female placed several items in a basket and walked to the exit without paying at approximately 5:30 a.m. on December 11.

The female robbery suspect punched the employee, who confronted her as she was leaving. The suspect then left in a white Honda Civic.

Video surveillance from the grocery store captured the incident.
