A Fort Walton Beach man was arrested for the Residence Inn robbery

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A Fort Walton Beach man was arrested for the armed robbery of a Residence Inn, according to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.

Police said a robbery in progress was reported Dec. 20 at the Residence Inn at 2 Miracle Strip Parkway SW.

According to officers, a US Air Force technical sergeant passing through the lobby observed a suspicious interaction between a front desk person and the night clerk.

Police said when he left he called police to report the suspicious behavior.

Law enforcement said when officers arrived, they detained Bradley Hariford, who matched the description provided by the caller. Police also said the night clerk reported that Hariford held what appeared to be a gun hidden in his jacket and demanded money.

Hariford was arrested for armed robbery.
