The Israel Defense Forces said on Monday that they had killed senior Hezbollah commander Abu Ali Rida in the Baraachit area of southern Lebanon during an airstrike.

In a message on its official Telegram channel, the IDF accused Rida of overseeing rocket and anti-tank missile attacks against Israeli troops in southern Lebanon.

Rada “was responsible for planning and executing rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on IDF (military) troops and oversaw the terrorist activities of Hezbollah operatives in the area.”

In recent weeks, Israel has killed several of Hezbollah’s top commanders and leaders, including former chief Hassan Nasrallah.

The IDF reported that it also killed Ahmed Al-Dalu, a member of the Islamic Jihad Military Intelligence Unit, in an IAF strike.

“Ahmed Al-Dalu participated in the October 7 massacre in the Israeli community of Kfar Aza. An additional terrorist was eliminated alongside him. Throughout the war, Al-Dalu was involved in the planning and execution of terrorist attacks against citizens of the State of Israel,” the IDF said.

Meanwhile, IDF troops continue to conduct limited, localized and targeted raids in southern Lebanon, dismantling terrorist infrastructure, locating weapons and eliminating terrorists.

The war began after nearly a year of cross-border fighting between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, with the Lebanese group firing rockets into northern Israel almost daily in support of its Gaza ally Hamas.

Israel is waging its deadliest war in Gaza against Hamas after the Palestinian terror group launched an attack on October 7 last year in southern Israel.
