Jacqui Felgate questions State Government over new $1.7 billion SRL deal

Global consortium Terra Verde has been awarded a $1.7 billion contract by the State Government to build the northern section of the twin tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill.

3AW Drive host Jacqui Felgate asked Premier Anthony Albanese and Infrastructure Australia why they had not announced more funding for the project.

She believes the Suburban Rail Loop project “has come at the expense of all other projects” and will impact generations to come.

“Why do we keep going forward with this when we’re still waiting on money from the feds,” Felgate said at Drive 3AW.

“We can’t keep going to the bank of mum and dad, in this case the taxpayer, and asking for more money.”
