Israel says it has killed an October 7 attacker in Gaza

Israel claims to have killed one of the October 7 attackers in a rocket attack on Gaza.

The Israeli military said the Palestinian it accused of involvement was hit in a vehicle strike in Khan Yunis, Gaza.

It comes as Hamas leaders were expected to arrive in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday for ceasefire talks with Egyptian officials, just days after Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon.

At least 32 Palestinians were killed in Israeli military attacks in Gaza overnight and on Saturday, most of the casualties in the northern areas.

Palestinian news agency Wafa claimed that three employees of World Central Kitchen, a US non-governmental humanitarian agency, were killed when a civilian vehicle was targeted in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

World Central Kitchen was approached by and but he hasn’t commented yet. However, it has suspended its operations in Gaza.

Doctors reported that nine people were killed when an airstrike targeted a car near a gathering of Palestinians receiving food aid in the southern area of ​​Khan Younis.

Residents and a Hamas source said the vehicle belonged to security personnel overseeing the delivery of aid shipments to Gaza and was close to a crowd receiving flour.

Another seven of the 32 dead were killed in an airstrike on a house in central Gaza City, according to a statement by the Gaza Civil Defense and Wafa.

The Gaza Civil Defense also reported that one of its officers was killed in the attacks in Jabalia in northern Gaza, bringing the total number of its workers killed since October 7 to 88.

Hamas fighters killed 1,195 people and took more than 250 hostages in a deadly attack on Israel on October 7 last year.

Egypt is hosting a Hamas delegation in Cairo on Saturday to discuss a ceasefire, Hamas officials told the Reuters news agency on Friday.

It is the first visit since the United States announced earlier this week that it would redouble its efforts, working with Qatar, Egypt and Turkey, to negotiate a ceasefire in Gaza.

Hamas said it was seeking an agreement to end the war and secure the release of Israeli and foreign hostages held in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that the war will only end when Hamas is eradicated.
