Moss Bluff man arrested after verbal altercation – American Press

A Moss Bluff man has been charged with aggravated battery after a shooting Friday on East Jovita Lane.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kayla Vincent said deputies were dispatched to the home around 7:30 p.m. last night.

Vincent said an argument between the victim and Scott Boudreaux, 47, began earlier in the evening at a restaurant.

“According to witness statements and evidence collected at the scene, once they returned to the home, the verbal altercation turned physical, at which point Boudreaux retrieved a firearm from a nearby safe and shot the victim,” said Vincent.

Boudreaux was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with second-degree aggravated battery. Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $175,000.

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing, Vincent said.
