Black Doves confirms the identity of the mystery woman in the final scene

Everyone was confused

The creator of Black Pigeons confirmed the identity of a mysterious woman who seemed to appear out of nowhere in the final scene of the series. Apparently a lot of people were confused about who she is.

Joe Barton, who is behind the Netflix spy thriller, said he was struck by confusion over a woman in the final episode. The last scene is on Christmas Day, and a woman is seen sitting in the house of Reed – the head of the Black Pigeons.

As the show wraps up and ties up all the loose ends, it fades to the max. We see all the main characters enjoying their festivities as Fairytale of New York by The Pogues is played to us. Reed is in her elegant home, sipping a glass of bubbly and enjoying the view.

The camera then pans to a blonde woman sitting on the sofa, also enjoying a glass of fizz. The camera focuses on her as she smiles at Reed, almost in a sinister way. It adds a confusing hint to something that’s going on. Why is he smiling like that? Is there anything else going on here?

So who is the mysterious woman in the final scene of Black Dove?

Clearly, many people don’t recognize her, as Joe Barton has since clarified who she is. In an interview with GQhe explained: “This is Marie, she’s Helen and Wallace’s nanny. She appears throughout the series, so it’s possible to miss.

“I mean, she looks like she could be Reed’s daughter, they have a similar haircut. But no, she’s the nanny, so she’s spying on him all the time. Basically, everyone is a spy.”

Marie had a brief scene with Helen earlier in the show, so we can all be forgiven for not remembering. So no, she’s not an ominous hint of what’s to come in season two – which has already been confirmedby the way! Or wait, maybe she is. We will have to wait and see.
