Charles Woodson reacts to Ohio State’s latest embarrassment

It’s quickly becoming apparent that Michigan may have handed Ohio State the most embarrassing loss in college football history. While losing to the Wolverines as a three-touchdown favorite for the fourth straight year would be bad enough on its own, the aftermath of that loss only added insult to injury.

Wednesday, reports began to emerge that an Ohio state representative was introducing the “OHIO Sportsmanship Act,” which would make it a felony to plant a flag at midfield. That state representative is Josh Wallace, and he’s serious about it. In a post on Twitter/X, Wallace said the Act aims to prevent behavior that leads to violence.

“I am proud to introduce the OHIO Sportsmanship Act to make planting flags at midfield a felony in the state of Ohio,” Williams wrote. “Behavior that incites violent altercations and puts our police officers at risk does not happen on the football field.”

Unsurprisingly, the news was received ridicule from sports fans and analysts from all over the country…including Ohio State fans. It was a devastating blow to a football program and fan base that has struggled with accusations of being “soft” for the past four years, and it’s one that it may never recover from.

Charles Woodson, a guy who grew up in Ohio and recently played for the University of Michigan weighed OHIO bill from state representative.

“Now you know I’m from Ohio,” Woodson said. “But I went north, crossed the border, went to Michigan. In my youth I got involved in that rivalry. I liked Michigan, so my beef was always with the University…Ohio State University. That’s it. I’m from Ohio, you know what I’m saying. So I like where I’m from, but man, I ran across a story about Ohio trying to ban “flag planting” as a result of what happened next. the Michigan/Ohio State game, what do we do, from Ohio, I don’t know what’s going on say it was a fake story, it’s not true and let’s get it over with, okay, make it right.

It’s not often that Ohio State fans agree with a Michigan man like Woodson, but it’s a pretty safe bet that they all agree with what the Wolverine legend had to say here.
