Navy’s unusual drive to recruit nuclear submarine officers turns heads – The Week

In what may seem like a bit of a recruitment oddity, the Australian Navy is looking for candidates to become nuclear submarine officers and technicians and earn up to AUD 120,000.

Which is strange to ask, well, candidates don’t need to have any experience in the field.

According to media reports, the Navy is looking for high school graduates with “no experience at all” who will eventually learn to pilot the ship and potato its position.
