Donald Trump supporters are waking up to the reality of their ballot choices, and the stories are amazing

Staring into the abyss of the incoming administration, many have turned to a meme from 2015 that aptly sums up the masochism involved in voting for Donald Trump:

So, as we say goodbye to the wildfire of 2024, here are some Trump supporters in for a particularly rough next four years:

1.First, it’s the Trump voter who “employs a lot of undocumented workers”:

Tweet from @RpsAgainstTrump featuring a South Dakota farmer discussing concerns about Trump's potential mass deportations affecting local labor needs

2.There’s the “Trump fan” who, lo and behold, found out that Elon Musk’s closeness to the current president was “a bad idea”:

3.There’s a conservative who has “mixed feelings” about Trump’s proposed tariffs, but is looking for a good “counterargument” to anyone showing how badly they’ll hurt the economy:

4.There’s the Trump voter who expressed his irritation with Trump because he’s probably never “read a book or studied politics/constitution in his life”:

5.There are farm groups who wish the whole “mass deportation” thing wouldn’t apply to them:

6.There’s the undocumented immigrant who’s glad her kids voted for Trump because she thinks he just “wants to deport criminals” (entering the US without authorization is a felony):

Rosa expresses relief her kids voted for Trump, feels safe from deportation and believes Trump is targeting criminals, not law-abiding immigrants

7.There’s the person who will “probably always vote Republican” despite their family facing “pretty real and scary” medical debt:

Social media commentary expressing frustration with healthcare after a family tragedy, mentioning political views and the impossibility of healthcare

8.There’s the pro-Trump union leader who was “frustrated” when the president-elect “lied”:

9.Here are the black Republicans who opted out of Trump’s majority-white cabinet picks:

10.There’s the regretful voter who “didn’t expect” Trump to be “funding cancer”:

11.Finally, it’s Trump’s voters who learned that his comments about Luigi Mangione didn’t exactly make him a man of the people:
