He also revealed that the party has passed two key resolutions – one on Mahatma Gandhi and another as a political resolution. Venugopal also emphasized that 2025 will focus on the Congress’s Organizational Reform Programme, including a thorough assessment of the capabilities of leaders at all levels within the party. “I moved two resolutions, one on Mahatma Gandhi and the second as a political resolution. More than 50 leaders participated in the discussions… Finally, we decided to start a massive political campaign for a year. 2025 will be the organization. Congress’s reform agenda will be a thorough inquiry into the capacity of leaders at every level,” he added.

As the nation has just celebrated the 75th anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution, it is also fitting that we pay this tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s statement on 19 November. 1939, was essential for the establishment of the Constituent Assembly seven years later,” the party statement said.

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent remark on BR Ambedkar, the Congress said the Union minister’s denigration of Ambedkar in Parliament is the latest instance of the RSS-BJP’s decades-long project to undermine the Constitution . They also reiterated their demand for Shah’s resignation.

The party further condemned the amendment to the Conduct of Elections Rules 1961, saying the move undermines the principles of transparency and accountability that form the cornerstone of free and fair elections. “The CWC condemns the Centre’s amendment to the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, undertaken on the recommendation of the Election Commission of India, which restricts public access to essential sections of election documents. This undermines the principles of transparency and accountability that form the cornerstone of the free and the free. Fair elections We contested these amendments in the Supreme Court has already eroded the integrity of the electoral process,” the party added.
