An 80-year-old hiker dies after falling on Mount Olympus

HOLLADAY, Utah – Salt Lake County Search and Rescue says they have recovered the body of a hiker who died after falling on Mount Olympus.

According to officials, they were notified of the body about a mile up the trailhead at 3:20 p.m. on Christmas Day. The first responders managed to reach the body, but declared the victim dead on the spot.

Investigators say the victim died from a fall while hiking. The victim is 80-year-old William Thomas.
