A Houthi missile strike injured more than a dozen people in Israel last week.

A projectile fired from Yemen landed in a public park in Tel Aviv early Saturday, the Israeli military said, adding that attempts to shoot it down were unsuccessful.

A Houthi military spokesman said the group struck a military target using a hypersonic ballistic missile.

Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s emergency medical service, said it treated 16 people who were “slightly injured” by shards of glass from broken windows in nearby buildings.

Another 14 people who suffered minor injuries en route to the protected areas were also treated.

The Houthis have been attacking Israel with drones and missiles since the early months of the Gaza war, which began in October 2023.

Since then, Israel has carried out intermittent strikes against the Houthis in retaliation.
