The new Superintendent of the Missouri Highway Patrol has announced

Governor-elect Mike Kehoe has announced Major Michael Turner as the next Superintendent of the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Kehoe made the announcement on Thursday, December 26.

The announcement follows retirement of current Superintendent Eric Olson.

“The appointment of the next superintendent of the Missouri Highway Patrol – one of the best law enforcement agencies in the country – is a task I have not taken lightly, and I am confident in Major Turner’s qualifications and experience to lead the agency.” , Kehoe said. “My administration is ready to work to improve safety and security in our communities, and I look forward to Major Turner and our MSHP Soldiers playing an important role in that effort.”

Turner currently serves as commander of the Office of Field Operations.

“I am humbled to receive this appointment and look forward to working with Governor-elect Kehoe and incoming DPS Director James to take care of our troopers on the road, enforce laws to improve public safety, and build on the distinguished reputation of the Missouri Highway Patrol. as the state’s premier law enforcement agency,” Turner said.

If confirmed by the Missouri Senate, Turner will assume the role on February 1, 2025.
