Flood water level rises in Ba

As traffic restrictions continue in Ba city, floodwater levels rise.

Ba Town Council Acting Director Vinal Prasad says the main road to town, Elevuka road and the road to Tavua are closed.

The deputy commissioner for police operations, Livai Driu, says the floods have started to enter shops in the towns and it is not safe for people to move around the three towns.

Meanwhile, movements in the towns of Ba, Rakiraki and Tavua have been restricted for this evening.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu says flood waters have started entering shops in the towns and it is not safe for people to move around the three towns.

Driu says this is to ensure the safety of the infrastructure of the three cities and to protect the properties from opportunists.

He says the main highway from Ba to Rakiraki is closed to all traffic.
