Actress Kristen Stewart, who will soon make her directorial debut with The Chronology of Water, has revealed that her film explores the themes of incest, menstruation and a woman’s journey as she tries to reclaim her identity and body.

Kristen Stewart, in an interview, said, “My movie is about incest and periods and a woman reclaiming her voice and her body, and it’s hard to watch at times… but it’s going to be a horrifying ride. “

She added: “I think it’s an advertisement, but I don’t think I have any assessment of what that means. I think people would like to see that, but then… I think maybe people want to watch movies about Jesus and dogs.”

Highlighting her journey as a director, Kristen Stewart admitted that it was a challenge to make a film in Hollywood. Stepping into the director’s shoes feels like a “self-aware thing” for her. With age, Stewart has realized the importance of “results-oriented goals” and wants to focus on projects with concrete and meaningful goals instead of what she’s doing. you feel good at the particular moment.

“As an actor, I am called to serve the visions of others. You become greedy; it’s good to be called… even if you don’t love the work. I think it’s nice that as I’ve gotten older, I’d rather tailor my experiences to outcome-oriented goals than just, ‘This is going to feel good now,'” she said.

According to a synopsis, The Chronology of Water is a story about “issues of gender, sexuality, violence and family from the perspective of a lifelong swimmer turned artist.”

It chronicles Yuknavitch’s journey dealing with addiction, child abuse, and healing, while also reflecting on social issues of gender, sexual behaviors, violence, and family. In this daring adaptation of the book, Imogen Poots will take the title role.
