Police are searching for a male suspect who went on the run after being arrested following an assault in North York.

Police are searching for a male suspect who went on the run after being arrested following an assault in North York.

The incident happened on Dec. 15 near York Mills Road and Yonge Street.

Toronto police said they responded to that area shortly before 6 p.m. for reports of a person with a knife.

According to investigators, a man and another person got into an argument after leaving a subway station on Yonge Street. They said the man assaulted another person.

The police intervened and investigated both sides.

The male suspect then fled police custody after being arrested, they said.

He is described as a young man in his 20s with black curly hair and was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket with a white ‘North Face’ logo on the right back shoulder, a red hoodie, a warmer of black throat, black and white. plaid pajama bottoms and white sneakers.

Toronto police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with dash cam footage to contact them at 416-808-3200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
