One of Atlanta’s Most Wanted Captured: 20-year-old in custody in connection with two fatal shootings

A 20-year-old man who had been on Atlanta’s most wanted list was arrested Friday. Corey Comer has been charged in connection with two separate fatal shooting incidents in the past year.

On May 6, a 37-year-old man was shot and killed in Cleveland Avenue Park at 47 Cleveland Avenue SW. According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 6-acre park around 4:30 p.m. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.

In the second incident, on Nov. 17 at approximately 1:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to 183 Mount Zion Road SE after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 17-year-old male suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical staff.

Following investigations in both cases, Comer was identified as a suspect. He was later charged with multiple felonies, including murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The cases remain under active investigation.

Atlanta police are investigating a shooting at 183 Mt. Zion Road SE in Atlanta.

Comer, who has been on Atlanta’s most wanted list since November, was booked into the Fulton County Jail.
