Alleged Boxing Day thief arrested and charged in Caledon Ont.

While Boxing Day is known for securing the best deals, one local shopper took things too far and allegedly tried to get a deal for free.

On Thursday, shortly before 5 p.m., officers responded to a report of an alleged shoplifting incident that occurred at an LCBO store in Bolton.

Police say they received the exact description of a vehicle the suspect left her in, allowing police to quickly track down the man.

When members of the Caledon OPP located the suspect, they arrested him and began an investigation.

The investigation revealed that the accused man was in possession of a stolen vehicle.

As a result, a 39-year-old man was charged with theft under $5,000 on two counts of shoplifting, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of an identification document and possession of a credit card, along with several other charges.

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
