A South African security firm has reported an unusual incident after a panic alarm at a home in Northdale turned out to be the work of a mischievous monkey.

Mi7 National Group said their control room received several panic alarm signals from the residence the day after Christmas. Believing the homeowner may be in danger, they immediately dispatched multiple units to the scene.

When the first team arrived, the owner explained that a monkey he had entered the house and stolen a remote control containing the panic button. As the monkey moved with the remote control, the security system continued to send panic signals until the animal was out of range of the receiver.
