The Bazan Group presents its 2023 ESG Report

Bazan Group has published its ESG Report for 2023, the main focus of which is on the company’s efforts to face the challenges represented by the Swords of Iron War. The report also provides a comprehensive snapshot of Bazan’s environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) achievements, as well as its progress in meeting short- and long-term ESG goals.

After the outbreak of war, Basan increased its donation fund to NIS 30 million, of which approximately NIS 11.6 million was allocated to war victims and evacuees. The activity included financial donations, ongoing support and the creation of joint ventures with social NGOs. Bazan expanded his work in the community, including by adopting Kibbutz Nachal Oz, which suffered severe damage during the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023.

Bazan’s president, Moshe Kaplinsky, said: “The phrase ‘national responsibility’ has taken on an even greater and new meaning since the beginning of the war.” In our management approach and our set of core values, the phrase “national responsibility” incorporates the issue of mutual responsibility in the broadest sense of the term. We saw the development of an increasingly intolerable situation, which imposed a moral duty on us to increase and intensify our social commitment and help the community as much as possible. We have committed millions of shekels and hundreds of volunteer hours to provide support to communities that have suffered and suffered damage from the war, and we will continue to do so for as long and as long as it takes.”

The report details other notable company achievements in 2023, including a 26% reduction in the volume of waste generated, along with a 12% decrease in the amount of water used compared to previous years. The Group has set ambitious, forward-looking targets that include a 30% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030, together with significant investment in innovative technologies aimed at reducing the Group’s environmental footprint. In addition, Bazan plans to expand its scope of partnerships with leading organizations to pursue sustainable development and support local communities.
