Bavuma also shared a moment of banter when asked about his emotions towards the end of the chase.

“I was still sulking in the toilet. There weren’t many conversations. I still had faith. I didn’t go out to the viewing area and I was in the toilet. I came when 15 runs were needed,” laughed Bavuma.

Asked about the grand final in hand at Lord’s next June, the skipper stressed that his side had their sights set on the ultimate prize.

You don’t go into a World Test Championship Final without wanting to win it, or at least see yourself in the Final. It’s something I think the team could do.
