From there, mass mayhem ensued. Heat guard Terry Rozier went to Thompson to fight back, taking him to the ground. As players and coaches tried to break up the madness, Thompson and Herro continued to yell at each other as Thompson was pulled.

“It’s just two contestants going at it, playing basketball,” Herro initially told reporters of how the incident began. via FanDuel Sports Network Sun.

“Just a physical game,” he continued of how the game eventually came down to kicks. “I guess that’s what happens when someone scores, throws money, does the whole thing. So I’d be upset too.”

He made the comments from the Miami locker room, smiling in a wardrobe similar to his own. usual pre-game fashion statements.

Herro scored 27 points while adding nine assists and six rebounds in Sunday’s win. Both Herro and Thompson were ejected from the game following the incident. Rozier and Rockets guard Jalen Green were also dropped, along with Rockets head coach Ime Udoka and assistant coach Ben Sullivan.

We’ll see if the NBA decides to hand down any suspensions as a result of the incident. Thompson and Herro won’t see each other again until March when the Heat and Rockets meet.
