Surveillance video shows a man shooting at the Maserati near Aurora Avenue in Seattle

New surveillance video yet another shooting near Aurora Avenue North, an area of north Seattle notorious for gun violence, drugs and prostitution.

The shooting happened around 12:20 a.m. Saturday in the 10200 block of Linden Avenue North in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood. The Seattle Police Department said responding officers found more than a half-dozen shell casings at the scene.

Show surveillance video from the area a silver Maserati traveling slowly along Linden Avenue North before a silver Jeep pulls up and tries to block its path. The Jeep driver can be seen getting out of the vehicle before pulling out a gun and firing at least eight shots into the driver’s side of the Maserati. At least one other person appears to be in the Jeep, but cannot be seen in the video.

The Maserati sped away from the scene heading south and the suspect may be seen in the video getting back into the Jeep to follow the victim’s vehicle. SPD said the suspect is described as a black man in his 20s “with shoulder-length locks.” The man was last seen wearing a black hoodie.

Seattle police said no injuries were reported after the shootings and responding officers were unable to find any vehicles after searching the area.

Residents and workers in the area have expressed their frustration at the ongoing violence.

Trey, who lives near Aurora Avenue North, spoke to KOMO News and described the scene.

“Right outside my window, there was a little yelling and all of a sudden the first shot was fired and then seven in a row shortly after that,” said Trey, who did not want to share his latest night.

Rudy Pantoja, who works along the Aurora Avenue corridor, said, “There’s a tiny, tiny percentage that’s causing hell and havoc in this community and others like ours in the city, and nothing seems to be done when it comes to responsibility”.

The area is believed to be plagued by gang activity, sex trafficking and turf wars between pimps.

“We’re actually tracking and taking these people down,” Trey added. “I called and identified these people, took them to the police. They arrested them and then two weeks later they got out again after shooting someone. .”

Although the SPD has not confirmed a motive, residents are demanding accountability and action to address the violence.
