No. 1 Running Back in America Visiting LSU Football for the Oklahoma Showdown

No. 1 Running Back in America Visiting LSU Football for the Oklahoma Showdown

Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff will welcome No. 1 running back in America, Harlem Berry, back to Baton Rouge on Saturday for an unofficial visit to campus.

The Episcopal Star of Metairie (La.) St. Martin’s, and the top-ranked tight end in the 2025 recruiting cycle, revealed a commitment to the LSU Tigers on Jan. 3 after a rigorous recruiting process.

Now, after being committed for more than 300 days, Berry is stuck with the Bayou Bengals ahead of next week’s early signing period.

All signs point to Berry putting pen to paper with LSU on Wednesday, a source familiar with LSU’s Tigers recruiting told On SI and the deal with the Tigers.

He will return to Baton Rouge on Saturday for another game day experience where he will be joined by a number of current LSU commits.

Position coach and recruiting guru Frank Wilson worked wonders in the 2025 class this year after securing the services of Berry and Louisiana’s No. 2 overall pick JT Lindsey.

That gives LSU both the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked quarterbacks in the Bayou State for next season. A critical feat for the Tigers.

The decommitment of Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, has put LSU’s program in a “vulnerable” state.

The former LSU commit flipped his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines after a NIL package north of $10.5 million was offered.

Despite news that Underwood is moving on, Berry and Lindsey are stuck with the program.

Lindsey confirmed with LSU Tigers On SI that he has halted his recruitment and will sign with Kelly’s program next week.

Alexandria High (La.) four-star running back JT Lindsey revealed a commitment to the LSU Tigers on April 13, Brian Kelly and Co. they blocked their services.

Lindsey, the No. 2 running back in Louisiana and a Top 10 running back in America, received an offer from the Tigers and wasted no time in committing to the program.

Position coach Frank Wilson’s intentions were clear. LSU already had a commitment from the No. 1 running back. 1 in America, Harlem Berry, but the goal was all along.

Now, after a dominant senior campaign, Lindsey has the nation all-state after landing a Top 10 running back in the 2025 recruiting class and skyrocketing to No. 2 in Louisiana.

Lindsey confirmed to LSU Tigers On SI that he will not take any visits elsewhere and will sign with LSU on Dec. 4 during the early signing period.

It’s a massive success for the program with Lindsey barely scratching the surface. A player who many believe is playing above his grade, he has dominated the Louisiana prep scene.

Lindsey has amassed 1,950 yards this season with 27 total touchdowns. Now, he cruises through the Louisiana playoffs with a state championship on his mind.
