Cybercrime networks in the Golden Triangle exposed

India Today’s investigation highlights the significant threat of cybercrime emanating from the Golden Triangle, including countries such as Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. The report looks at the operation of online scams and digital frauds that cost India around 11,333 crore rupees in nine months. It also sheds light on human trafficking affecting individuals in India, Bangladesh and Nepal. The Ministry of Home Affairs points to a financial loss of 7,000 crore rupees from India by the beginning of 2024.
