Crews rescue dog from hotel room fire, officials say

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A small dog was rescued from a fire in a Myrtle Beach hotel room Saturday afternoon.

Crews were working Saturday morning at the scene of a fire at 1605 S Ocean Boulevard that was contained to one room.

Crews from the Myrtle Beach Fire Department and Horry County Fire Rescue assisted in the rescue of a small dog suffering from smoke inhalation.

The dog is expected to be fine and will spend time at an animal clinic for additional care.

Crews are asking to avoid the Ocean Blvd area for your safety and the crews.
