Marta Kostyuk faces robbery in Milan, only rockets remain

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk became the victim of a robbery in Milan. The 22-year-old visited the city of Milan on holiday, but became the victim of a robbery. She shared the details on social media with the caption: “Expensive trip to Milan. Whoever did this- God bless you. Really,” Kostyuk also released a video on the social media platform where he revealed that the people who committed this crime left their sports equipment behind.

Kostyuk will be hoping that the recent development does not have a serious implication on how he goes next season, after having an impressive 2024 season in which he won 34 of 54 games and suffered just 20 defeats. However, despite this performance, she failed to win any titles in 2024.

Her best outing was playing in the finals of two WTA 500 events where, on both occasions, she ended up on the losing side. In February, she lost to Britain’s Katie Boulter in the San Diego Open final 5–7, 6–2, 6–2. Later in April, she lost in the final of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart to world number six Elena Rybakina in straight sets, 6–2, 6–2.

Kostyuk’s best performance in a Grand Slam came at the Australian Open, where she was eliminated after losing in the quarterfinals to American world number three Coco Gauff 7-6, 6-7 , 6-2. Kostyuk’s final appearance of the year came at the Wuhan Open where he lost in the third round, once again to Gauff in straight sets 6–4, 6–1.
