Deputies are searching for battery suspect who is a ‘danger to self and others’

Floyd County deputies are looking for a man they say is a danger to himself and other people.

Investigators say Herbert Shiflett, 34, is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, simple assault and criminal trespass.

When the sheriff’s office posted that Shiflett was wanted on social media, an account associated with the name Sebastian Shiflett commented, “This is ridiculous!”

The sheriff’s office responded to the comment, saying “Please introduce yourself, if you need a ride we can come pick you up.”

They did not comment on what led to the search for Shiflett.

Deputies say anyone who sees Shiflett should not approach him and should call 911
