Pelham crash leads to aggravated DUI arrest

PELHAM – A car crash into a utility pole resulted in an aggravated DUI charge for a Pelham woman last night.

Police responded to a single-vehicle accident at 11:42 p.m. on Old Gage Hill Road where they found a white 2020 Lexus sedan that had crashed into a utility pole near Eddy Lane.

Denise Winn, 61, was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

She was not injured in the accident.

Officer Richard Glynn of the Pelham Police Department investigated the incident and arrested Winn for driving under the influence after observing signs of impairment.

The road was closed for several hours while utility crews worked to replace the damaged pole.

Winn was charged with aggravated DUI and criminal mischief.

She was released on bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Salem District Court on December 9 at 8:00 a.m.
