Affiliate fee proposal rejected – The Tribune

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has rejected a proposal by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) to impose affiliation fees on government institutions, according to Raj Niwas officials on Saturday. The proposal was aimed at amending clause 5 of Statute 24 of the university, which would have required government colleges and affiliated institutions to pay affiliation fees starting from the 2025-26 academic session. Officials in the LG’s office said that implementing this change would have increased the financial burden on government institutions, which could lead to higher tuition fees for students, which would have affected students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
