A total of 2,62,863 candidates will take the constable (Executive/Army/SDRF) test on December 1. The largest number of candidates (54,296) is from Jammu district.

A total of 1,67,609 candidates will take the Constable (Telecommunications) exam on December 8 and 1,28,663 candidates will take the Constable (Photographer) exam on December 22.

Male and female officers as search invigilators have been assigned in the examination centers and the examination process will be videotaped.

Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary of J&K, ordered the deployment of adequate staff including invigilators and security personnel at each examination center to ensure smooth and safe conduct of the examinations.

SSRB will also start the recruitment process for 669 posts of sub-inspector in the police department on December 3. Candidates can apply for these posts till January 2, 2025.

It is to be noted that the recruitment process for the posts of Sub-Inspector by SSRB caused a major embarrassment to the J&K government when it was found that the selection process was rigged by the leak of test papers in 2022.

The CBI probe established that the test papers were sold for Rs 20 to Rs 30 by 24 accused, including a BSF officer.

The entire selection process was canceled and charges were framed against the accused in court. The J&K government was forced to overhaul the SSRB by moving all board members and staff directly or indirectly concerned with the 2022 Sub-Inspector recruitment process.
