Suspect on the run after 22-year-old man was shot, killed in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — A man is dead after he was shot in north Phoenix late Wednesday night, and police are looking for who is responsible.

Phoenix police responded to the shooting around 10 p.m. nearby 21st Avenue and Tonto Lanenear Loop 101. Officers found a man who had been shot at least once.

The man was taken to the hospital, where police say he was later pronounced dead. He has since been identified as 22-year-old Steven Gerald Laguna.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate and the area is expected to be cordoned off as the investigation continues.
