Main accused involved in INR 40,000 theft at head constable’s house Held; He had been on the run for three months

Bhopal/Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A thief, involved in breaking into the house of a head constable, has been arrested by the Gwalior police. The arrest took place on Sachin Tendulkar Road in the city on Thursday morning. Following a tip-off, a police team was sent to apprehend the thief who fled.

The cash and jewelery stolen from the policeman’s house have not yet been recovered. The police arrested the accused and started rigorous questioning.

According to information, the accused, identified as Kalu alias Arun Jatav, a resident of Mehra Colony, has been absconding for three months. According to sources, the theft took place at the residence of Superintendent of Police Gandharv Singh three months ago. Cash worth INR 40,000 and gold and silver jewelery were stolen during the incident. The police had earlier arrested several suspects in the case, but Kalu, the main accused, had managed to evade capture.

A dedicated police team consisting of Head Constable Ramniwas and Constables Shamim Khan and Naval Singh was assigned to track him down. Acting on information, the team nabbed Kalu from Sachin Tendulkar Road on Thursday. The stolen items have not yet been recovered. The interrogation of the accused is ongoing. Further investigations are expected to reveal more details.
