‘Merry Christmas’, Telford burglar tells magistrates as he receives conditional discharge for his ‘desperation’ crimes

said Edwardo Andre Montero Telford Magistrates’ Court that he was “not a bad boy” but stole “necessities” after stealing stock from shops in Telford
on November 26, 2024.

Montero, 32, of Beaconsfield, in Brookside, Telford, pleaded guilty to three counts of shoplifting and one count of attempted shoplifting when he appeared in court on Christmas Eve.

The court was told he was caught trying to steal an £8 bottle of wine from Marks and Spencer.

A pair of boxers and a pair of black socks, worth £38 from NEXT, a baby girl’s coat, 18-24 months, and a phone cord, worth £14 from Poundland, and a pair of silver. trainers, worth £18 belonging to Primark were found in his possession.

All items were returned to their rightful owners, the court was told.
