A section of the A96 between Inverness and Nairn is closed due to an accident.

UPDATE: The road is reopening after 4 1/2 hours of closure due to a vehicle incident

Traffic Scotland says: “The A96 is closed in both directions at Newton of Petty due to a road traffic collision.

“Road users are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.”

The incident was first reported by Traffic Scotland at 2.47am today.
