Rockford Criminal Charged with Burglary of 2 Senior Living Units

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police have arrested 53-year-old Jerry White for allegedly burglarizing the Wesley Willows and Green Castle senior living facilities on Christmas Eve.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to Wesley Willows, located at 4141 North Rockton Avenue, for a report of a theft that had occurred. While driving to the housing unit, officers found White walking on Rockton and arrested him.

White was already wanted for breaking into Mulford Green Castle on November 25. He allegedly broke into several homes and stole money.

An employee identified White as the suspect who broke into Wesley Willows. The suspect stole cash, jewelry and ancient coins, according to court documents.

Police said they also found methamphetamine in his jeans while searching him.

Security footage showed White entering both senior living facilities, according to court records.

White was convicted of burglary in 2008 and 2022, attempted burglary in 2017 and criminal trespass to a residence in 2001.

White is charged with three counts of residential burglary, criminal trespass to a residence, criminal trespass to a residence while a person was present and possession of methamphetamine.
