Former NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey’s Lawyer Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Former NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey appeared with his attorneys Friday to deny recent sexual misconduct allegations against him at a news conference.

Maddrey’s lawyers claim that his accuser, Lt. Quathisha Epps was investigated by the New York Police Department’s internal affairs department for putting in overtime that she never completed. They claim she is making the allegations against Maddrey to get away with her plan.

They also say Maddrey and his accuser had a consensual, adult relationship and have text, video and other evidence that she initiated the sexual relationship.

Maddrey’s attorneys also said the former chief never approved his or any other officer’s overtime because it had nothing to do with OT.

“These charges are nothing more than an attempt to avoid criminal liability,” said Lambros Lambrou, Maddrey’s lawyer.

Maddrey resigned from the NYPD last week after the allegations came to light.

Epps filed a complaint against the city, alleging that Maddrey engaged in reciprocal sexual harassment, forcing her to do unwanted sexual favors in exchange for overtime.
