A man accused of kidnapping a woman in Haltom City on Christmas Eve was arrested in Oklahoma City on Christmas Day.

What we know: Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy, 35, of Honduras, faces charges in the city of Haltom of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery. He also faces charges in Oklahoma City for unauthorized use of a vehicle; using a firearm during the commission of a crime; receiving, possessing or concealing stolen property; and carrying or possession of a firearm by an illegal alien.

Haltom City police said a 22-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle around 4:45 a.m. on Christmas Eve when she was taken at gunpoint from the Acacia Apartments on Denton Highway.

Authorities said Godoy forced the woman into her vehicle, made several threats against her and made her withdraw money from a bank before she was taken to Camden Apartments in Grapevine.

Police said the woman was briefly detained but was able to escape and find help.

Godoy fled in the victim’s vehicle and was found by police in Oklahoma City on Christmas Day and taken into custody.

What’s next: Police said Godoy could face additional charges as the investigation continues.

Haltom City detectives interviewed Godoy in Oklahoma City and say he admitted to the crime.

Police said Godoy is in an ICE detainer because of his immigration status.

Godoy is currently being held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
