Man charged in North Charleston gas station robberies

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – The North Charleston Police Department has arrested a man connected to two armed robberies that happened just hours apart.

Nikolas Adam Ravenell, 30, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, according to jail records.

Officers responded to Sunoco on Ladson Road in Ladson shortly after 9:30 Saturday night. The clerk told officers a man entered the store and implied he had a gun before getting away with an undetermined amount of money.

Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, officers responded in North Charleston to another robbery at the Spinx gas station on West Montague Avenue. The suspect was reported to be wearing similar clothing to the suspect from the previous robbery.

North Charleston police spokesman Harve Jacobs said no one was injured in either incident.

Ravenell was denied bond and is currently being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
