Male, 22, accused of robbing a bank on Lyell Avenue

ROCHESTER, NY — A 22-year-old man is facing robbery charges after Rochester police say he stole money from the KeyBank on Lyell Avenue Monday morning.

Officers say the suspect, Kevis Herd, whispered he had a bomb and demanded money. RPD says that’s when the teller handed over the money and Herd ran off.

Officers responded to the bank just after 9 a.m. and pursued the suspect. Herd was taken into custody after a foot chase on the Parkway.

Herd was taken to the Monroe County Jail and will be arraigned Tuesday.
