A man is charged with murder in Old East Dallas, police said

A man has been arrested and faces a felony charge in connection with a weekend homicide in Old East Dallas, police said.

Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1900 block of Caddo Street around 11:20 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release Monday.

Police say their preliminary investigation has determined that 52-year-old Ketsanasak Nachampassak injured Vannakham Nachampassak “by violent means.” According to police, the 88-year-old victim died at the scene. The suspect and the victim were known to each other, the statement said.

Police declined Monday afternoon to elaborate on the circumstances leading to the death and the specific relationship between the victim and the suspect.
