‘A bit on the fence’: Christine Brown sets wedding date with David before engagement, leaves kids ‘worried’

Christine Brown and David Woolley are making significant strides in their relationship, but some of Christine’s children are expressing concern about the pace. On the November 3 episode of Sister Wives, Christine said that while some of her children are excited about David, others are unsure about how quickly things are progressing.

“Some of my kids are great with David. Some of my kids are a little on the fence,” Christine revealed during a family dinner where her son Paedon met David for the first time.

Christine’s daughter Gwendlyn has yet to meet David. Christine wanted to make sure her children were kind and welcoming, prompting her to ask, “Please be nice this time.” However, the dinner got off to an awkward start when Paedon greeted David by mistakenly calling him Richard, creating a humorous moment that broke the ice.

As dinner continued, Christine’s daughter Aspyn brought up the couple’s wedding plans, asking David if he liked any of the places they visited. David announced that they had already set a wedding date and venue, although Christine stated: “We’re not engaged yet.” This revelation worried some of Christine’s children, especially Aspyn.

In a confessional, she was surprised at how quickly things were moving. “My mom just got out of a 25-year relationship and then she started talking about marriage,” Aspyn said. “It seems really, really, really fast.”

Christine’s rapid progress with David has raised eyebrows, especially since she recently ended her long-term marriage to Kody Brown. Aspyn’s feelings were similar to those of the children, who are still coming to terms with their mother’s new relationship.

Christine revealed that David had already sought her father’s blessing to marry her, and he got it. Christine said: “He got on really well with my dad… It was a great conversation.”

She recounted how David directly asked her father for his blessing, to which her father responded with an enthusiastic Yes before serving food. This approval seems to ease some of the tension, but Christine’s children still have mixed feelings.

Christine’s daughter, Mykelti, noted that David was able to quickly adapt to their family dynamic, which includes a sense of humor and a quick wit. However, the affectionate displays between Christine and David surprised some of her children.

Aspyn admitted, “I’m not really used to seeing my mom being affectionate with someone… So that’s what’s different for me.” Another daughter, Ysabel, echoed this sentiment, saying, “I’m not entirely familiar with her kissing anyone else. And so, when he does, I’m extremely caught off guard.”
