Samuel L. Jackson Denies Denzel Washington’s Sons Are ‘Nepo Children’

Samuel L. Jackson he doesn’t want to hear about his friend Denzel Washingtonhis children do not earn their place in the film industry.

Jackson added that the conversation reminded him of the movie itself, which he said IMDB summary, “follows the lives of the Charles family as they deal with matters of family heirlooms and more, in deciding what to do with an heirloom, the family piano.”

“So hopefully this is something that encourages other people who want to go through the whole lineage thing,” he added.

While ‘nepo babies’ are often mocked for not earning their place in the industry, John David, 40, admits he has had to deal with the other side of it – the crushing expectations of coming into – a family that was already famous.

“I’ve wanted to do this all my life, but I didn’t know how,” he said Financial Times in an interview published Thursday. “I had problems with my relationship with the world because of who my father is. And now I do. Not only do I do it, but I’ve been able to work with some great directors who have said, “You’re good enough. I want you for you.”

When he started working at The piano lessonthe pressure increased.

“The biggest challenge was not letting them down,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Oh shoot. I have these heavies and my family members watching me on the monitor every day. I know they’re going to edit me later, so I have to give them some options. The pressure started to mount.”

Denzel took a different approach to watching his son do it The piano lesson. While the acting legend has been in the business for more than 40 years, his son learned about film in the classroom, graduating with top honors at the American Film Institute.

“From the beginning, I knew he had a vision,” Denzel said Vanity Fair in September. “From my son I learned the difference between making a film and being a director. I directed four films. i had todd (black) to support myself, but I didn’t know what to do necessarily. Malcolm studied cinematography. He is an academic.”

The piano lesson airs on Netflix starting November 22.
