25-year-old allegedly sends threatening messages vowing revenge for fight with Ambrose, arrested and charged with terroristic threats – Douglas Now

A fourth individual was arrested and charged in connection with a fight that occurred last week at Ambrose’s only convenience store. Bryce Kirkland, 25, was arrested Friday and charged with terroristic threats and acts after allegedly sending threatening text messages and social media messages vowing revenge against the three subjects who allegedly be fighting the victim, who is Kirkland’s grandfather, in the altercation.

The fight allegedly took place on Monday, November 4, 2024, over a deer hunting dispute. Property owner Clyde Rucker, 71, met Rob Smith Jr., 55, and two teenagers, Dillon Smith and Carter Holley, at the store, which is where the incident happened . Rucker was hospitalized following the altercation. He was released the next day.

On Wednesday, Smith and the teenagers were arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated assault, in connection with the incident. In the days following the fight, Kirkland allegedly sent a series of threatening text messages to the Smiths and Holley, vowing punishment for the altercation.

On Friday, Kirkland was arrested for allegedly sending the messages and booked into the Coffee County Jail. He was soon released on a $500 property bond.
